Sturdy, except that a thin metal rod in the hinge of one of the height-adjusting legs fell off once when folding. I just put it back together and so far so good. It doesn't come off when I shake the device, but I'll make sure that doesn't happen in the future. Other than that it works great with my 15.6" laptop, folds up nicely, easy to carry around in the pouch that comes with it, magic lighting, lots of solid rubber bumpers attached to the laptop to fit nicely on it.
