Review on Keyboard Logitech MX Keys black, English by Mateusz Kot ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are several shortcomings, in principle, it corresponds to the norm.

I bought to replace the good old Magic Keyboard, which is battery operated, for use with a macbook with an external monitor. A week later sold and felt relieved. The keyboard, of course, is not that bad. It is technologically advanced and has many advantages. But after 10 years of Magic Keyboards and 20 years of mechanical keyboards (fundamentally different stories with their pluses and minuses), she, as they say, is neither in her head nor in her. , plastic case and design. Plastic case - it is very plastic) and I absolutely do not understand how this can be not obvious. Feels especially good after Magic Keyboard. At the same time, MX keys cost a lot of money - more expensive than a small MK and a little cheaper than a large one. Even for less money from other manufacturers (Satechi for example) aluminum claves, like MK. And Logitech for some reason lit up . When making a milimalistic keyboard, it must be made minimalistic to the end, dear Logitech, there can be no half-measures here. Otherwise, it is impossible to justify this stupid growth over the Fn keys by your desire to enter your precious branding somewhere. He is the cherry on the cake, which, coupled with plastic, finally kills the hint of style and minimalism. It's a pity. Keys, as I said, wadded frankly. But quiet, yes. And they have noticeably more travel than MK. It turns out some kind of middle option between the membrane in the performance of MK and low-profile mechanics - while frankly worse than both. A matter of habit, of course. But I'm used to good things. Separately, for Mac users, I want to note that, given the existence of the excellent BetterTouchTool and Sharemouse utilities, it’s not a killer feature for you, the presence of software for remapping keys and the ability to copy files and text between computers - with the help of BTT, any keys and their combos are remapped to any keyboard, and Sharemouse allows you to connect any mouse and keyboard to several computers and transfer files in the same way.

Pros
  • - Full compatibility with poppy and Windows, the presence of both layouts on the buttons - The presence of proprietary software and the ability to remap multimedia (Fn)-keys to taste -the presence of four additional keys above the number block (screenshot, etc.) and, again, the ability to remap them with software - Connection to three devices simultaneously via bluetooth and / or a complete adapter (unifying receiver) - Synergy with their own MX Master mouse - the ability to copy and paste text and files between different computers - strong and weighty design, quiet, soft touch keys - charging by type c and a powerful battery (without backlight lasts for 4-5 months) - backlight
Cons
  • - it is PLASTIC, although it is made soundly. Many users in their reviews are misleading that this is metal, but no, no and again no! - Wadded key travel is a matter of habit, but after a clear "evil" key travel on the Magic Keyboard, the keys on the MX Keys are nothing. The same cotton as any membrane clave for 1000r. - notches under the fingertips in the keys, in my opinion, are not a plus and they are not needed - the typing speed suffers. This is not a Logitech revelation, as many people think - such keyboards were sold before and were not particularly popular. For the general external aesthetics of Claudia, IMHO is also not a plus - Stupid thick plastic strip on top with Logi branding - no other type of fastening for legs and port was invented - the backlight is uneven and done on the back - it oozes in places - do not believe the pictures from the official site
