I used this paint box for several months in the summer and fall. Now that the weather has driven me inside, I'll try to give a review. First, this color box is very expensive, so I expect a lot when I pay a lot; However, this did not happen. In fact, a color box is hardly enough. One of the best features is the ability to screw the box onto the tripod. This gives a lot of freedom in settings and adds strength that is much needed, at least for me. Another useful feature is the shelf on the side. I use 11 x 14 pallet paper held in place by spring clips and it works well. The last feature I would like to commend is the grip. Very convenient. My biggest complaint is the canvas holder. Not a good design. I found it difficult to keep the canvases or even the stretched canvas from moving. Also, the internal adjustable holder makes it difficult to use canvases larger than 9x11, since 9x11 is what which the internal holder in the box itself allows. And it's a canvas because the canvas needs to be inserted into the slot under the main box. Another really annoying feature is the brush holder. Once configured it works fine; However, it is held in place during transport or storage by two magnets that just don't work. This brush holder kept falling off, so now I have to carry it in a canvas bag along with other necessary things. The rotary knobs for adjusting the inclination of the screen are a bit embarrassing. Why so much? Why is the top leg adjustment to keep the blade at an angle so tight? Other boxes simply do this with a slot and handle. I guess they're trying to leave the side for the brush holder blank, so ok, but that gives me, the arthritis guy, a lot more buttons to pull on. I love the paper towel holder. ingenuity. I would suggest getting a cheaper drawing box with a canvas holder on the outside so you can easily carry a large enough canvas to and from the drawing area. Every color box has some problem, and inventors and sellers are trying to find the best solutions.
