I bought this mount a year ago and it worked great for the first 9 or 10 months, but then I saw what appeared to be clear gel running down the windshield and the mount started to sag detach from the windshield. The sucker basically started to turn into slime. Most of the time the car is either in the garage at work or in the garage at home in the evening. Although my place gets hot in the summer, I also use a sun visor to keep the cabin from overheating. I don't know if it broke because the material isn't durable or doesn't take a lot of sun/heat, but given that it was made for car use it should last over a year if used as such .
