This mug is suitable for cold liquids, but when you pour something hot into it, such as tea, coffee or milk, it takes on a distinct plastic taste. I hand washed it thoroughly before use and tried washing it in the dishwasher to get rid of the plastic taste but nothing helped. The item description says it's good for both hot and cold liquids, but I don't recommend buying it with the intention of using it for anything other than cold.
