UPDATE: One of the two died completely - it boiled, wouldn't stop beeping loudly no matter what I did, wouldn't switch off and then went off completely. It went in the trash. Outside the return window but less than a year old so we won't incur any costs and will look elsewhere for a replacement. Shed and during the last wildfire season in California we were pretty miserable. I bought these primarily because the reviews were generally good and they are an established brand; An added benefit is that the filters are available on subscription and are economical and affordable. Installation is easy - remove the plastic from the filter and the sticker from the top panel, plug and play. The "Low" setting is very quiet, and there's a night light option that I haven't messed with, but seems like a way to turn off the downstairs light and all lights on the control panel. The High setting is louder, more like a typical oscillating fan. I have both devices on "high" for now, but will switch to low later. As an added bonus, there is a timer feature that can be set for an hour or more. I can't yet tell how this is affecting air quality since I unpacked it an hour ago, but I'm confident. If this changes - it suddenly breaks down, stops working etc. I will come back and update my review but my first impressions are positive. UPDATE: We've been taking this for two days in a row now and mom swears she's better now.
