Review on 🍷 Bormioli Rocco 18oz Red Wine Glasses: Crystal Clear Star Glass for Wine Tasting, Laser Cut Rim – Elegant Set of 4, Perfect for Parties and Restaurants by Antonio Bacon

Everyday glasses that don't fit the description of elegance

Based on the description (and the reviews) I was expecting something definitely nicer than ordinary glasses, but still sturdy enough to be dishwasher safe if needed. I like my Reidel Vinums for special use, but I also want something lower, not so brittle, for more frequent use. Bormioli Rocco glasses describe themselves as such but do NOT match the description. Considering the price, $17 for four, I should have known better. The glasses look normal and are a size I like. But the glass is heavy in the hand and the rim is quite thick and has nothing to do with the "ultra thin rim" as described. They are suitable for everyday use and stand up to regular dishwashing. It's possible some other buyers may have received a higher quality batch judging by their feedback; I'm not that lucky. I bought better glasses for less money at H**e G**ds. In comparison, I wouldn't even call the Bormioli glasses inexpensive. Some reviewers say the glasses broke in transit. The ones I received were not broken in any way upon delivery. Looking back at the photos, I was expecting more than I probably should have had. But these are far from elegant glasses in the description.

Pros
  • Perfect design - the laser glasses are much thinner than the standard glasses. When the wine touches your lips, you will taste it fully without even feeling the glass in your mouth. The elegant stem makes the glass even more attractive, prevents your hands from heating up the wine and allows you to rotate it freely. The stable base ensures that your drink is stable on the table.
Cons
