All stitching is thick, material is thick, zipper is thick. I will say if you are looking for great organization in a bag, this bag is not for you. There are 2 side pockets but they are only useful for small items and they don't close very securely but do close. The inside is just an empty space with a few "loops" sewn on each side to maybe fit screwdrivers, pins, or a pliers handle. I was looking for a lower profile bag. Just to hold eyes, ears, tape, staplers and the like. It's great, like a bag that you might have inherited from your grandfather but never used. Remember that you received black. If you receive a different color or pattern, I think it will look slightly different. These aren't the same dimensions as a standard shoebox, but I believe you can fit almost the same amount of stuff in it, just for reference. Oh, I think I'll mention that the bottom has a hard plastic liner sewn in that's completely covered in canvas on both sides, although there's no access.
