Very good upgrade for little money. Not only is this very convenient, in my experience the visual fidelity of the Vive is very dependent on getting the lens as close to the eyeball as possible; They are quite thin compared to the original gasket (see photo). I found the "sweet spot" where the lens is perfectly focused to be more forgiving and blur, which worsens at the periphery, much less pronounced. I find it difficult to get the original liners that close to my eyes and that was the best part of using these liners followed by a better feel for the material. Watching out for people who wear glasses, I find this lining even more annoying. use in this context than the original seal, which is a bit annoying. I have found that the quick and dirty way is to put the glasses in the headset and then put them on with the headset. I'm worried about them touching the lenses, but I'm not entirely sure how else to go about it other than throwing away contacts or ordering Vive lenses with a prescription (which seems like the best idea every day). I have to warn you if you sweat your Vive and enjoy long gaming sessions. Being smaller and not evaporating or absorbing as much as the original pad in my opinion, the headset doesn't seem to cope with sweat either. I recently killed a headset, actually the first day I switched to this pad. I played a tense game (at least for me) non-stop for a couple of hours. Eventually my headset went gray and SteamVR couldn't find it. I hacked it open and sure enough moisture got into the headset through the mic/seam where the shell connects and got to the sensors in each corner that showed the most oxidation. Since there's not much room under the shell, tilting your head or removing and reinserting the headset makes the problem worse. I can't fault the pad for that, but I really don't think it helped. . The thin rubber was compromised in a way I've never experienced with OG rubber. I'm waiting for an HMD from Ebay to replace my tote one. If it appears, I will use it until now. The comfort and visual authenticity are worth the price of admission. But I will say, for the sweaty guy, if I'm playing sweaty games on a device that Google shows has a history of sweat damage, I need all the help I can get on that front. So I'm sticking with the foam padding, which has proven itself in the past for long and strenuous workouts. Instead, I use these pads when playing low-key or seated games.
