You really need to take the time to cut the vinyl to fit this item. You need to cut a lot less than shown on the picture or diagram. Even if you cut out less than shown, it's still too much. You also need to be careful not to remove too much foam. Take your time. I took my time with my first set and it turned out to be perfect. I got cocky and tried to hurry, the second took too much out of the too big finale and now you can see the gap even after installing it in the passenger seat. I filled in the missing foam with silicone glue and stuck a few pieces of vinyl I cut into the hole to seal it. Just remember you can always push and compact the foam along the way. But when you have to put the foam back in because you ruined it, it looks like crap.
