Review on 🚰 EcoPure EPINL30 5 Year in-Line Refrigerator Filter: Universal, with 1/4" Compression and Push to Connect Fittings, White - Efficient Water Purification Solution by Jay Swearengin

The first thing that drew my attention to this filter before I bought it was its water supply connections. These are fittings that are inserted directly into the plastic housing of the filter; and then you can use the included brass adapters that go beyond the push-to-connect fitting to standard 1/4" compression fittings. All descriptions provided are industry standard, accurate, correct and complete, but more concise than truly helpful. For example, 1/4" compression fittings are often (erroneously) described as having an actual 1/4" outside diameter, which they and in particular are not. So I was a little apprehensive and finally calmed down a little when this filter arrived with those 1/4 inch compression fittings, which is exactly what they said and what I wanted. But that would be reassuring to me and helpful to the many other reviewers here who were clearly confused as to what they were getting if the list was more comprehensive. For example, in a listing, it can be very helpful to say that these 1/4" compression fittings work particularly well with common and available 1/4" stainless steel reinforced refrigerator water lines. Another aspect of these connectors that bothered me more was that the 1/4" compression connection (which is what I want) is routed through a push-to-connect connection, which I think and apparently a number of others do Reviewers look lightweight and seemingly flimsy I find that actual bugs are almost never mentioned due to push-to-connect, so maybe it's not that big of an issue, but at least it introduces an additional potential flaw that I definitely don't have would like..t there.. Another thing that bothered me about this filter prior to purchasing it was checking its max capacity/water pressure rating since the municipal water supply in my house is a little over 90psi.If you look at both Looking at the Revain product listing as well as the EcoPure website's own description, there is no mention of water pressure in the text, but both websites appear to contain the same photo of the filter on which the Et ikett is located if you look closely (expand it if necessary) you can see it says up to 125psi. Which sounded fine to me, comfortably above my incoming 90psi. Except when my filter arrived in September 2019, the label only listed up to 100psi. What?! So I called EcoPure and casually chatted with a customer service representative who sounded reasonable that the company was in the process of reducing filter pressure just to get a conservative rating without actually changing the filter. and that the renaming may have overtaken the marketing (e.g. online photos), but they have been working to keep up with the marketing, online photos will be updated soon. Then he (the CS manager) offered to refund my money as the product delivered did not match what was advertised; but I didn't consider him at the time, told him his explanation made sense and I'll wait and see how things go and expect the online photos to be updated soon. Well months went by finally five months in February 2020 and the online filter photos didn't change or change, it still said 125psi although of course I was stuck on the filter that had written 100 pounds per square inch. So I called EcoPure again and first spoke to a CS representative who offered (for the second time) to get my money back; I said that sounds good, but first, please let me speak to the CS manager again. The manager began by denying pretty much everything he told me in September, including the fact that the filter had been downgraded to 100psi. I said ok please just give me the money back as you (the manager) and your representative both offered. He then told me categorically that he could not refund my money. I said ok now that you are claiming the filter is 125psi please send me the one that says so for the replacement 100psi filter you sent me in September. He said he couldn't either. We argued for a while, in the end he reluctantly agreed and promised to ship me a replacement 125psi filter quickly. So he lied (again) since he didn't send me anything. Two weeks later I called again and spoke to another company representative who confirmed that the company did not send me a replacement filter as promised but promised. you kindly finally sent me one yourself. Wow what a struggle just to get the product as advertised! Meanwhile, at the moment I have no idea how they came up with this and I came to get a filter labeled max. only 100psi. But what is very clear is that the company is not really sure what type of filter they produce, what pressure rating they have. Finally, on actual performance, I received and installed this filter in September 2019, almost 6 months ago. During installation, there was definitely no dripping either at the connections or at the excess water pressure on the filter housing when I pushed the whole thing back into the fridge niche. Since then or still not flows; or it's leaking so little that I can't see it yet, I just really hope it doesn't! The water and ice coming out of the fridge dispenser is amazingly clear, but this external filter is in line with the fridge's excellent internal filter, so I can't tell which filters are how much. Finally, in reviewing this EcoPure filter, I would like to deduct a star due to concerns about the connectors (as mentioned above). And another star for the great confusion/confusion of sending me a mislabeled pressure power filter and another star for the appallingly poor customer service in troubleshooting this issue (again, all as above). I give this filter two stars.
