Review on πŸ’ͺ AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 Black Edition: 6-Core Processor with Unparalleled Performance by Andrey Marinov ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product, the price is commensurate with the quality.

This CPU is top-notch. I overclocked my Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z to 4.5 GHz using it. The temperature ranges from 35 to 37 degrees when at rest, and rises to a high of 63 degrees when subjected to full load in Prime95. Despite AMD marketing the processor as a rival to Intel's Core i5-3570K, the i7-3770K is the default comparison. The Intel Core i5-3570K is ranked #86 on www. Cpubenchmark. Net, the i7-3770K is #23rd, the new i7-4770K is #15, and the FX-8350 is #35 (!) and the cheapest in the top 50:)

Pros
  • Inexpensive. In comparison to the Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge, the flagship FX-8350 Vishera is more affordable without sacrificing performance. Effective acceleration. The future looks bright for multi-threaded software and games (I'm sure everyone knows that Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's next-gen Xbox will run on AMD's eight-core Jaguar/Kabini processors, thus new games and consoles will be optimized for the x86 architecture's many cores).
Cons
  • Overclocking, however, causes it to heat up just like any other CPU. Invest in a quality cooler if overclocking is in your future. Second, the Socket AM3+ CPU interface appears to be obsolete as of the current version. The next upgrade will necessitate a new motherboard, as the Steamroller due out in the second half of the year will likely run on an architecture similar to AM4, and the Excavator due out the following year will run on AM4 +. However, Intel faces a similar problem.
