Screen Jewel - Projection Screens

When I unpacked this screen for the first time, I was struck by the light weight of the whole package. The child can carry the entire ensemble in the supplied cloth bag. This caused mixed feelings. I wondered if the screen's frame structure would suffer as well as the picture quality. Installing the screen on the stand for the first time may take around 15 minutes or less. The frame itself consists of six thin aluminum rods connected with an elastic rope (four for the frame holding the screen and two for the legs of the stand). The rods are threaded around the edges of the fabric shade (through a rod like a curtain) and connected at the corners with removable PVC-like plastic connectors. The fully tuned frame wobbles a bit, although the main aluminum bars are stiff. Assembly can be done by one person, but two people are required for installation as the lower bars, which act as legs, must rotate freely at all times and be held in place while the screen is being raised. After that, the legs may need to be rotated a bit to maintain the correct angle and prevent the entire frame from collapsing. The top corners of the frame itself might need a little nudge to straighten out. It's best to squeeze each foot between two objects to prevent rotation. For outdoor use, an additional rope and supports provide additional stability. The quality of the screen itself is consistent with the price. It is undertone free, so colors appear neutral and whites appear truly white. It obviously doesn't crease or crease, and it also stretches a bit so the image doesn't get distorted. I would say the picture quality is very good. The construction is cumbersome enough to be unusable for frequent assembly and disassembly. If you have such a need, I recommend a screen with a tripod or suspension. Of course, tripods can make it difficult to place the screen as close to the wall as possible. Anyway, aside from the wobbly frame, the very low price makes this a great product.
