I bought a Rexing DVR a year ago. It has saved me $500 so far and my own insurance company over $3,500. Last month, about a year after purchasing this dash cam, I was in a car accident. I have provided a clip for you to watch. Everyone was fine. The driver in the oncoming lane turned right towards me at the intersection with the green light. I tried to stop and we fell. Although the driver apologized at length and claimed it was his fault, his insurance company denied my claim a day later. In other words, I would have to pay my own deductible ($500) and insurance (not his) for my own repairs ($4,000+ at the body shop). That was until I emailed these dashcam footage to another insurance company. Then my request was immediately granted. Then I bought a second Rexing DVR for my girl's car. If you're wondering why the claim was denied, it's because another insurance company said I was partially responsible for the accident because we didn't compete. Without seeing the video, they insisted that I could have avoided the accident by hitting the side of another car. It didn't matter that I told them we didn't collide head-on because I braked to avoid a head-on collision. Note that in some states, if you are at least partially responsible for an accident, you may have to pay for your damage. This is why the DVR readings are so important. It's about the details. The video shows him turning on me (not giving in), I braked and we fell. 100% his fault. Let's get back to the camera. The camera lasted almost a year. This includes fairly harsh summers and winters. About reliability I can not speak for more than a year. If that fails I'll be sure to post an update. I have a problem with my Sandisk Ultra 64GB micro SD card. Do not use this card! It will not be recorded in loop recording mode. At first I thought the dash cam was broken and almost returned it. Luckily I didn't send it back. So I had to clear the card about once a week as I had storage for about a week before the card was full. It's really not ideal as in the attached video the card was almost full and the recording could stop at any moment. There is no warning to stop recording. The only thing you will notice is that the record button will stop blinking. I recommend a high endurance Micro SD card that uses MLC (not TLC) technology. It's more expensive, but lasts longer. If the card doesn't advertise MLC then it doesn't as it's about double the price. This is especially important for DVRs as they are constantly recording data. For a computer or regular camera, the presence of MLC is less important. All flash data wears out and fails over time, MLC lasts longer. As an example, you can buy Transcend 32GB (TS32GUSDHC10V) from Amazon. As long as this camera lasts, highly recommended!
