For the price, I was surprised at the "quality" of the material. "Quality" is in quotes because you can't expect too much for $25. I was nervous that the outfit would fall apart at the end of the night but it held up well and didn't have loose straps etc. My son had growth spurts from week to week so I didn't want to spend that much on something he can't do more than twice carry. These 4 items were exactly what I was looking for (for a hot summer wedding). I did not use the bow tie that came with it as it was very cheap and tight. I decided to buy a separate tie and I'm so glad I did. As expected, the set arrived crumpled, so you'll need to iron out the creases. I believe the shirt is a cotton-linen blend, but the vest and shorts are man-made materials (polyester?). Do not place the iron directly on the material of the vest and shorts. He can burn out. Place a thin, slightly damp towel over the areas to be ironed and iron the towel to avoid damaging the fabric underneath. I did this and it worked fine. Also, I found the size a bit too big. My son normally wears a size 8, but we had to downsize to a size 7 for a more 'custom' fit. The only thing I didn't like was the asymmetry of the vest (there is a lapel collar on one side and not the other). If the design could be changed to get rid of the lapel that would be 5 stars.
