Review on πŸš— Enhance Vehicle Diagnosis with Nemisys 3822 Vivid Domestic/Asian OBDII Scan Kit by Rory Stice

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great scanner for little money

This is Jeff. I bought Nemisys 3822 for more advanced car diagnostics. I am a state-certified master technician and work on vehicles on the side. I needed a scanner that can see multiple PIDS (sensor data). The cheap ones just don't have what I need. Here's a piece of meat and potatoes. 3822 is the same as 3821 only without OBD 1 connectors. 3822 has OBD 1 software, you only need to buy cables. The unit came with 2013 software and I received a free online upgrade to 2014 software. I was able to read ABS/SRS/TRANS/ECM/BCM data. The scan tool uses the same software as the larger Genesys, but with fewer triggering and programming options. This device makes real-time graphics (ideal for Sensor 02). The screen is clear and sufficient (not high definition). The device looks sturdy and uses batteries for power. Comes with batteries (AA batteries). The cable length is about 3 feet. The case has a fold-out lever to hold it (I don't use it). There is no annual software subscription and the device comes with free updates for current software. However, if you want to upgrade to New Year's coverage, fees apply. The 2014 version is the latest and will be updated for free with the purchase of the device. The device has code help to guide you through routine repairs. It froze a bit when I first used it, but learned quickly with use and now I have no freezing issues. The processor is slower than some. The download isn't super fast, but it's fast enough for what you need. This device is worth the money. The software can see so many sensors. I give it five stars because this device is a valuable addition to my diagnostic tools. You can still buy a cheap scanner to keep in your car for a quick check.
