I love taking my dog with me to run small errands and such, but she always sat on the center console to look out the window and ended up trying to climb on my lap. I didn't feel safe, especially with two small children in the car. I first bought a large one for my dog after reading some reviews and asking a question. I have a Miniature Schnauzer that weighs 21 pounds. My dog liked it very much! But I didn't like how it took up every inch of my front seat; I drive a 2014 RAV4. She definitely had more than enough room in the big one, so I decided to buy the small one and return the large one. I had delivered the small before processing the return of the large so I could post these comparison photos. My dog still has enough room to lie down (although not stretched out like on a large one, but definitely enough to lie down, especially with the cut-out in the front). On car trips (daily back and forth to kindergarten and sometimes running errands) she mostly sits to look out the window. Since she rarely lies down, I prefer to keep the smaller one. I photographed two sizes side by side so you can get a good idea of the size difference. They are the same height and front to back. The width is 5 inches smaller compared to the small size. Both are very light and extremely easy to install and remove if anyone is ever sitting in the front (we always use my husband's truck when he's with us so I rarely have to take it off but it's nice that it's easy) .
