Review on πŸ’‘ 2 Pack Recessed Lighting 4 Inch with Junction Box - Dimmable Flush Mount Ceiling Light, 2700K-6000K, ETL and Energy Star Certified by Jenna Fonoti

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy to install and very clean look but not the brightest recessed lights

Overview: **12 Sets of 4 inch Ultra-thin LED Recessed Ceiling Lights with Junction Box, 5CCT Dimmable Concealed Installation Ceiling Light, 9W, equiv. 700 lumens, Can Killer Downlight ETL and Energy Star certified** Good quality: Really nice clean look once installed - just a flat white ring and opaque surface - Very easy to install - Plug in the LED junction box to a normal 110V circuit. Then connect the light to the junction box and place the light in the cutout. There is nothing easier. The color temperature can be easily selected using the 5-stage switch on the junction box. Even after the lamp is installed, replacing it isn't too difficult. It has fairly good lateral light spread from the surface of an opaque lens. While you can choose the color temperature, I'd prefer more options on the warmer end of the color spectrum over the cooler end. I'm renovating a kitchen and replacing an existing light fixture that is dropping from the center of the ceiling. Before installing it, I decided to do a test and temporarily installed one of the lights near where it was going to be installed. When I switched it on, I was quite disappointed with the light output. Although I will be installing four of these lights in my kitchen I don't think they will provide enough light for this space. Note that this is a standard 8ft ceiling and the main kitchen area is about 7ft by 10ft. I think I'll probably need at least 6 of these lights to have enough lighting for the kitchen and it won't look right in such a small space. So I decided to buy a set of 6" LED recessed bulbs, each rated at 1200 lumens. While some reviews suggest they are very bright, I would advise some caution, especially if they are to be used in locations that require brighter lighting conditions, at least in this set of 12 packs ($7.50 each) I'm only deducting one star because I think they could be a bit brighter.

Pros
  • Wide application
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
