The jacket is pleasantly warm, no question about it. I've used it for cycling in cold weather (even below 32F) and have been comfortable on 60-80 mile rides. It withstands light rain (didn't have a chance to use it in heavy rain) so I think it's a good winter jacket. It has 2 side pockets and a front pocket so you can carry your belongings. There is a zippered pocket on the back for other items. The only problem I found with the design of this jacket is that there are no open pockets at the back to put oversized items like a pump or a banana. Otherwise this is a great jacket. The PROBLEM I had was with the delivery. I bought a size L jacket, I got size XL. I didn't realize it was the wrong size until I used it. I felt like I couldn't get it back so I just took a bite. I ordered a second jacket, again size L. This time I checked the size. It was a medium. Returned. replacement requested. Finally, on the third try, I got the size L. Too bad it took 3 orders to get the product you originally wanted.
