So happy I bought a second one!

Failed to load media. I bought it to keep water in my fridge. That's great. The half-gallon pitcher fits easily on a shelf. Watch my short video to see it in action. The lid closes tightly and is very easy to put on and take off. Simply place the lid on the jug, press the outer rim with one hand and twist the inner ring clockwise to close or counterclockwise to loosen. You don't have to position the lid in any particular way for it to work. The cap is tight, like a drum. The handle is near the jug. I can easily slide my fingers around to grab it, but if you have big hands it can be awkward. I had no trouble pouring, no big drips or spills, a drop or two at most. Perhaps some of the complaints about the pouring mess came from trying to pour while the lid was still on the jug. Completely remove the lid to pour, no problem. (see video) As for the tea brewing pitcher breakage issue pointed out by some reviewers, it is most likely just an abuse issue. My mother taught me that you have to put the glass in hot water before you pour boiling water in it or it will break every time. This is the nature of the glass and not a defect of the product. Nowhere in the product description does it say that it can be infused with boiling water. In retrospect this is a good solid jar with a leak proof lid, easy to use and does what I was looking for. I was so happy with the first one that I bought a second one.
