Looks lovely, wish the lid sealed on though

I really love this butter dish, it looks beautiful and goes perfectly with my decor. I am just a little nervous about the lid not sealing on. I was expecting at least a little grip, so when someone lifts it, they don't come apart. Not sure if it was designed to not seal and if so, I would love to know why. Other thank that, I really love it.
