So the shirt itself offers great UV protection. I wore it in the days when it was mid 90's and felt comfortable. It was definitely cooler than wearing a cotton t-shirt. I usually wear a large size but wanted it to be a bit loose so I went the XL size and it wasn't as big as I expected. It was a good size but I thought it would be bigger. The only negative and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I ordered this shirt for a specific shirt for two reasons. Thumbholes allow the sleeves to fall down to cover the arms, while the hood itself protects the head. Both features were a bit disappointing. The sleeves are of normal length, reaching to the wrists, and if you want to wear them on the arms, they need to be longer. Instead, it's an uncomfortable fit that pulls the sleeves off the shoulder. The hood itself is not that big, stretched, it sits right on the head, protecting the back of the head and ears, but not covering the forehead and not casting a shadow for the face. So I wish these two were better but this is a great UV shirt at a good price and I will continue to use this along with a baseball cap for head and face protection. But I would never buy one again.
