Toklina 12-24mm f/4 very good lens. It has a solid construction and excellent optical quality. I usually use Nikon lenses on my Nikon camera, but the optical quality of the Tokina 12-24 is actually slightly better than the equivalent Nikon wide-angle lens. And this Tokina is about half the price of the equivalent Nikon, so choosing between them isn't difficult. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is that there's actually a better wide-angle lens out there for a little more money: the recently released Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, which costs about $100 more. The Tokina 11-16 is twice as fast as the Tokina 12-24 and even has a wider field of view. One final note, if you're buying a Tokina 12-24 or Tokina 11-16, you're buying a genuine Nikon 77mm lens. Add the cap and throw away the Tokina lens cap. The Tokina lens cap on my lens broke when I dropped the camera a few inches onto the tatami mat in Japan. While Tokina lenses themselves are very durable, their lens caps are not, so protect your investment by purchasing Nikon lens caps along with them.
