There are different ball heights, ie. BEGINNERS, Veterans and for BOXERS. For beginners, it depends on your current hand-eye coordination and reflexes to determine how easy hooking will be. But as with most things, practice will make you better, passion will make you great, and a lack of either will not make this toy good for your pets, lol. My son does sports and has done gymnastics and Thai boxing. With practice, he quickly got the hang of it, but he didn't have the passion to improve. So now our cats have a new toy. But for those looking to improve their reflexes, I see the benefits of this exerciser, especially on days when going to the gym may not be an option.
