Review on 🚲 HooYok Night Riding Bike Lights Set - 1,200 Lumen Rechargeable Front and Back Bicycle Light with Power Bank Function - Ideal for Road, Mountain, and Commuter Bicycles by Joshua Huan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The headlights are great for the price, but the mounts feel cheap.

First of all the tail light is really great, it's bright but not that glaring and the reflective band on the front is a nice addition. I just wish the steady mode wasn't the last (or had fewer modes) and a rubber band could guide it to the top. I can't measure the actual brightness of the front light. Stream, but it's VERY bright and the highest setting is the first mode, you really have to watch where you point it. The strobe mode is also very fast, so it really shouldn't be used unless you really want to blind someone, it's that harsh. Other than that it's great, the beam is sort of a floodlight/headlight combo and the lowest setting is probably good enough for 90% of road driving needs, just don't leave it pointed too high. Another plus is the Type-C as I initially replaced the front light with a worn micro USB connector. The power bank function is handy but I rarely use it. Neither light appears to have a locking feature, but both have belt clips. The only thing that let me down was the quality of the headlight mount, it looks like it's made out of some sort of unreinforced plastic and as you might expect there will be a rubber grip insert which is actually more of the same plastic. The nut used for attachment does not move smoothly and you will need to tighten it slightly to secure the attachment. On the other hand, the interface of the bracket is quite simple, and it is not difficult to adapt it to another bracket. Unfortunately, this is a big price compromise, but overall I still think it's a good deal.

Pros
  • Headlight
Cons
