This is a great replacement for the 5 year old ASICS Defiance. I use them specifically for the gym (bootcamp style) with a lot of strength training and HIIT cardio sessions. While not gel-like, they're still very supportive for box jumps, high knees, jump tucks, burpees, and sideways movements, especially in the toe area, which I would describe as medium to slightly narrow. I wear 9-9 1/2. I am very satisfied and fully meets my needs at a good price. I love the ASICS brand. Good deal with the seller. Initially the wrong color drawing was sent but this was quickly corrected.
