Cisco Classic Business Phone with Color Screen

My goal was to convert this Cisco IP phone into a standalone SIP phone for use with my VoIP service provider. By installing a Linksys SPA9000 VoIP PBX as a local intermediate device (to bypass the NAT protocol), I gained basic ability to make and receive calls. As to be expected for this model, the voice quality is excellent on both sides. The key is to create the right SEP-mac-.cnf.xml file to manage the firmware download and configuration settings. This phone came with the latest Cisco SCCP firmware. In the Cisco download area I selected the latest SIP firmware for replacement. When the phone arrived (no visible signs of use, by the way), I already had a good starting point for the config file. , TFTP server, call list, number plan, etc., the phone is switched on and registered, namely on the first connection. (Please note that these phones will require a PoE switch or injector as they are powered via the Ethernet connection.) (Updated May 8th 2021) My VoIP provider suggested switching UDP to TCP and enable the phone's NAT configuration option (resulting in a message of your public IP address). With further changes to the NAT settings on the part of the VoIP provider, the phone now registers directly with the provider and makes and receives calls. I'd like to use the directory button to bring up the local phone directory, but that's a work in progress. After successfully registering directly with my VoIP provider, I immediately bought a second 7965G from the same seller. The second phone isn't as pristine as the first, but still just barely meets Revain's visual inspection criteria. (Updated May 10, 2021) The Directory button now shows my personal contact list. It turns out that Cisco IP phones don't work with the Apache web server.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Nothing

Very good. But you need to find information from internet and you have network setting knowledge.
