I have been taking lysine for herpes for years. Never be let down by the fact that taking 2000 mg stops the herpes instantly and within 24 hours I only have a scab. My daughter started taking this product and she got more cold sores. I didn't think about it until I got cold sores about 3 days ago. I took 2 tablets (2000 mg) and after 24 hours there was no improvement. Took 2 more pills and waited another 24 hours. Still no change. I took the 3rd dose and no effect. It's not lysine, or at least not the amount listed on the bottle. Edit to add, herpes is finally going away, but like I said above, not as effective as other lysine products I've bought in the past.
