After almost 3 years of occasional riding. No, she never hit rock bottom. Not sure if it's overheating or water saturation. I have avoided these opportunities. If you want to make sure padding isn't an issue, buy this saddle. I weigh 160 pounds. The springs give more than expected. The ride isn't harsh, but it's not shaky either. After hitting, you can jump up once or twice. I bought a 24" bike and wanted the seat mainly for comfort, but also to protect the aluminum frame from overuse if I unexpectedly hit a bump while sitting. As this is for cruisers and not road racing, you should don't worry about the extra weight. Of course the extra padding/springing makes it heavier than other saddles. So far it's good. To deter theft I took it off with a black permanent marker. It probably wouldn't be very attractive to one Thief, at least not for resale And so far I'm feeling very comfortable.
