Review on ๐Ÿงผ Allegro Silver 5-Level Volume Control Automatic Touchless Foaming Soap Dispenser - Hands Free, No Touch, Infrared Motion Sensor - Ideal for Kids Bathroom, Kitchen Countertop - 11oz by Troy Hamilton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I want to rate it higher, but it's wasteful due to design flaw

I really want to enjoy it, but wasteful design flaw really hurts me. Aside from that one downside, it's pretty good. It looks good, it's easy to set up, it seems to work well, it's really comfortable, etc. However, if you're using it in a room where the lights are usually off, skip it. I have 3 of these, one for each sink in my apartment. The two in the bathrooms, where I only turn on the light when I enter the rooms, spit out some soap every time I turn the light off. I'm assuming the sensor here is a motion sensor looking for a 'difference' and when the light goes out the difference is enough to trigger its switch. The one in my kitchen, which has much more even light from the windows, doesn't. Without that design decision centered around the sensor, this would have been a 5-star rating. Edit: I took some gray silicone soap pads underneath and the sensor doesn't work just because the lights come on. Now it works as hoped but it sucks that I had to buy something else to get there. Support my rating, 3 out of 5 would be much higher if the sensor was reliable.
