It helps to feed the fish on time but I had trouble with the instructions. They were difficult to understand at first until I got the hang of it. The part that is detached to fill with food is extremely difficult to remove and reattach. You need to somehow unscrew it without the mechanism turning, which the instructions say is not recommended. I've managed to fill it multiple times without breaking it, so I must be doing something right. It doesn't really push out that much food, but I have my kit to feed my 55 gallon tank four times a day to keep my scaly pets happy. I actually mix pellets and flakes in my food and it works well. It fits perfectly to the wall of my aquarium and can be easily installed in any size. The only downside to this feeder is that you have to keep opening part of the lid so that it can put the food straight into the water. It's been running for a few months now and I haven't had to change the batteries in it. Needless to say, spinning 4 times a day doesn't expend that much energy.
