Review on SONY ICF-CD837 AM/FM Stereo Clock Radio with CD Player (No Longer Manufactured) by Cameron Aleman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Now I am happy. top of the line!

I looked at the Sony ICF-CD820 model and was disappointed (see test report). So I upgraded to ICF-CD873. Now I am happy. This block is much better designed. The mega bass connection produces a very good, rich Bose-like sound for its size. The AM/FM tuner has a digital setting that should be updated. You can tell this is a newer design as AM operates at 1710kHz. Both AM and FM are sensitive. This is definitely a high-end clock radio. You can choose a synthesized voice message with a display or just a display. If you press the button, you will see the time. And in the morning he announces the time and then starts the radio or the CD. It also has two alarms and a tone generator. You can wake up to the sounds of the river, birds, CDs or radio. (Trick: Since it has two alarms, you can set one to go to sleep and the other to wake up because the alarm will ring for an hour. Fall asleep with the river or the birds.) It also has a sleep mode (15, 30). , 60, etc.), but doesn't work with river and bird sounds (unless you do the trick above). I wish it had more than five AM-FM presets. You can also choose which track on the CD to activate, not just the first track on the CD. It even has a DST adjustment button for daylight saving time, but be careful not to press it, you might wake up an hour late! (It has a bit of sun as the DST indicator on the display, and the little knob is on the back.) The display is yellowish, making some numbers hard to see in the dark without glasses. My wife and I are very happy with the device. Ron in California
