Somehow without my knowledge my first MAIN dust filter fell off and was thrown away with a large load of sawdust. Even after the replacement, the lost motor began to overheat. It wasn't the bearings, but a lot of sawdust that accumulated in the stator and burned and thickened on the surface. I was able to clean the stator with fine sanding and got a fully working vacuum, but in my opinion there is a design flaw here that allows a vital, hard-to-see filter to fall off and be swept away during cleaning.
