The toothbrush itself has a beautiful design and a useful application. The bristles feel soft enough and once you get used to the feel of bamboo (more texture than plastic) it works effortlessly like any regular toothbrush. A key factor in ordering this product was that it helped reduce plastic waste. Unfortunately, they come packaged in a large Colgate plastic bag and packet of desiccant in each brush box. This is then placed in another plastic shipping bag. It's probably still slightly better than using a regular plastic brush and helps ensure the bamboo doesn't get moldy or moldy, but it does make one wonder about the true "green" benefit of the product. .
