The toothbrush itself has a beautiful design and a useful application. The bristles feel soft enough and once you get used to the feel of bamboo (more texture than plastic) it works effortlessly like any regular toothbrush. A key factor in ordering this product was that it helped reduce plastic waste. Unfortunately, they come packaged in a large Colgate plastic bag and packet of desiccant in each brush box. This is then placed in another plastic shipping bag. It's probably still slightly better

Pros
  • Charcoal toothbrush with soft bristles filled with charcoal to clean hard-to-reach places
Cons
  • too dull

Feels like a toothbrush.

There are many bamboo toothbrushes that are much cheaper than this one, but they actually look like toothbrushes. It feels like they were made for dental care and not just bristles glued to a stick. However, the packaging reduces the environmental friendliness somewhat. They are individually boxed as shown in the product photos but then assembled in a plastic ziplock bag for some reason. Instead, it could easily have been a cardboard situation.

Pros
  • recyclable cardboard
Cons
  • boring packaging

I've been using the brush for a week. All is well!

I've seen reviews from other manufacturers about bamboo toothbrushes. Some people say they break easily, are too rough or too soft to clean well, but I haven't had these issues. Another benefit is that the toothpaste washes off easily. I haven't tried many brands so I don't know if all bamboo toothbrushes are like this or just this Colgate Bamboo Charcoal Toothbrush. A bit pricey compared to other brands of bamboo toothbrushes but can last a long time.

Pros
  • Soft bristle carbon toothbrush filled with charcoal that cleans hard to reach areas
Cons
  • Not sure

Toothpaste Side Effect

I was looking to replace my plastic toothbrushes so I decided to give these a try. The "back side" of the toothbrush irritated the inside of my cheeks and lips. I don't know if the bamboo structure was to blame or if I was allergic to it. The irritation started when I started using the brush and went away after a few days when I stopped using it. The bristles are also quite stiff for a product labeled "soft". I bought a multi pack so I plan to use them for crafting and house cleaning. I plan to
