My son is 1.70 m tall and has an athletic build – thin, with broad shoulders and a long torso. He wanted something that would be warm enough for a short walk to school in Iowa in the winter, but not too heavy/bulky, not constricting his shoulders, long enough for his torso, and under which he could comfortably wear a sweatshirt. I bought him a medium and it fit him well. It's a bit without a sweatshirt or sweatshirt, but the drawstring at the bottom hem of the coat allows him to adjust the coat for a comfortable fit. to wear him! :)
