Women don't have much padding
I used to have cycling shorts with gel padding and they were very comfortable. I'm not sure what material is used to pad these shorts but it's not very thick and not very padded. If you need them for cushioning, I would recommend something else. If you don't want a lot of cushioning, this is fine.
