I decided to try these because we use a lot of coriander and basil in our dishes. They do their job, but you won't be able to chop herbs into very small pieces. It's great for our salsa, tomatoes, salads and anything that doesn't need to be finely chopped. Herbs tend to stick to the inside of the blade, but they usually loosen after a few hits. It takes a few tries to figure out how to cut the grass to the right size. The holder is also used to squeeze out herbs that you might not otherwise have selected.
