Review on πŸ“· Neewer Camera Lens Vise Repair Tool for Lens and Filter, Adjustable Ring Range from 27mm to 130mm, Durable Steel Construction by Lillian Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just paid for itself. So pleasant!

Beautiful vintage lens with a filter ring that made a really gross ridged dent (I assume it had to do with the tarmac) about 2cm long, again with a UV filter and I'm wearing a big smile, thanks for that filter ring repair vise from the good guys at Neewer. I looked up a YouTube tutorial, cut a protective circle out of cardboard to protect the front element (in retrospect I think it wasn't necessary and it got in the way a bit) and spent 10 minutes max on this effort. Voila! There is still a badge of honor/badge/war wound on the outer edge of the lens barrel, but the filter screws in well and my patient test shots (Nikkor 28mm f/2 ai-s, for the curious) were achingly beautiful. I want to find more injured beauties for rehabilitation! As for the quality of the instrument itself, it's just great. Beautifully crafted hidden black steel. Zero complaints about the way it works. There are other items on sale that look strikingly similar, but I cannot confirm their merits. I have been satisfied with Neewer products on a number of occasions so I went for their version of this vise and they have not let me down. Damn it works! They don't make lenses like they used to. I'm so glad I was able to rehabilitate one and give him a home.
