This pillow is 3 layers as they claim. These 3 layers are brought together/compressed in a mesh bag housed in a zipped pouch. This compression keeps the layers of the pillow very tightly packed together and therefore has very little bounce or cushioning. This seal keeps the "breathing channels" from actually breathing, allowing the pillow to trap hot warmth instead of cold. I read that they used a machine to hit the pad repeatedly to see if it "dented" after prolonged use. They claimed it wasn't. Well I've had this pillow for a few weeks now. I'm a king size and I sleep on both ends with the other end resting my hand on my wrist. In this very short time it has "permanent dents" on both ends as I switch ends and flip it frequently to get the cool side. The cold side will take 5 to 10 minutes to get hot. With three layers compressed in the case, it looks like they use this method to avoid denting. Well it's a failure. Many years ago I had an actual foam pillow, it was very soft and would always return to its original shape even after years of use. It eventually broke and came apart to my dismay. It seems to me that this pillow is actually not only made of latex, but also contains memory foam. Memory foam always dents after use and is very annoying. If I had one wish, it would be for my memory foam to get Alzheimer's.
