Great tech, great design from Contemporary British Knitting Magazine

I enjoy reading British knitting magazines for excellent articles and patterns using advanced knitting techniques because American knitting magazines seem to focus mostly on relatively simple patterns using only basic techniques. This book, THE KNITTING MASTER CLASS, is a collection of wonderful articles previously published in THE KNITTER magazine (released January 2009) that teach the intricacies of knitting. There are many articles that justify the price of this book, but my favorite articles are (1) Judy Furlong's Correcting Mistakes in Lace (Unpacking in Stitches, Rows, Rapports; Unpacking in Stitches, Rows, Rapports; Correction of missed or missed crochets; connecting threads with a Russian connection); (2) Jane Crowfoot Projects: (1) Sedgemoor Cardigan; (2) Elwood hat; (3) Nexus socks; (4) Baird collar; (5) housing for cable management; (6) Golden Wheat Lace Scarf (shown on the book cover); (7) chic spring beret; (8) Crimson V-neck sweater; (9) Milne jersey; (10) Abella Pillow; (11 and 12) Cuthbert's scarf and hat; (13) scooter socks; (14) socks with mistletoe; and (15) Charleston pillows. Each of these classic designs produces a piece that I will wear or use and enjoy knitting. Article authors and designers: Belinda Boaden, Judy Furlong, Jane Crowfoot, Emma King, Annie Modesitt, Woolly Worm, Judy Becker, Kirsty. McLeod, Todd Gocken, John Dunn-Ballam Amanda Crawford Janet Sloan and Jan Arnall Culliford. Magazine articles rarely tell everything about a particular knitting technique. Therefore, this collection is not intended as an exhaustive reference. However, having insufficient space to keep my subscription copies of THE KNITTER, I am delighted that the editors have decided to republish the journal's technical articles in this single hardcover volume. The quality of articles in knitting magazines is well above average because they consistently cover the most important (and sometimes surprisingly obscure) things serious knitters need to know about each technique. Not having enough space to keep my subscription copies of THE KNITTER, I am very pleased that the editors have decided to to republish the journal's technical articles in this single hardcover volume.
