Expected more but good

So I ordered this bad guy to replace the Thermaltake CPU fan that wasn't cooling my 4770 i7 properly. First of all, installation is MUCH easier if you mount the board outside of the case. If you install it with the board installed, you'll be throwing that CPU fan out the window. When I was finally able to install it, it lit up and caught fire when I turned on the computer. The design is neat. It's larger than the picture shows, so be prepared for your GPU to be next to the CPU fan. I had to remove the exhaust fan on the back of the PC as there wasn't enough room for both. Since my RAM doesn't have a heatsink, I had no problems with it. Switching from a Thermaltake (round) CPU fan to this resulted in a 4-6 degree improvement in cooler temperature. Reading the reviews I was expecting a slightly larger temperature drop, but I believe my high temperatures are due to the cheap board (H81M-E). Pros: Neat design, RGB lighting, large heatsink, fast CPU fan, great specs. if you are a Tron fan! Cons: BIG, installation is easier on paper than it is obvious, RGB controller can only be reached by opening the case, RGB power supply and RGB controller are VERY weak and very easy to remove, not suitable for people who use Tron to hate. Make sure you have enough space and be prepared to lose a fan or two near the exit. The RAM heatsinks fit snugly.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Vulgarity
