Review on πŸ’» SST-LD01B Micro-ATX Computer Case: Modern Design with 3 Tempered Glass Panels & Stainless Steel Accents by Shawn Pollock

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The most aesthetically clean, practical and versatile computer case I've ever had!

I was looking for a beautiful, well-made, practical transparent computer case in MicroATX format and in my opinion this is the most beautiful of the available ones. I didn't want a plexiglass or acrylic computer case because it scratches easily and isn't as aesthetically pleasing as real glass. This comes with three lightly tinted tempered glass panes. Front and both sides are all made of tempered glass. The front panel snaps into place with six latches, while the sides slide in like a metal case with stainless steel latches cleverly built into the stainless steel bottom and top inserts. You can tell the high quality of the design by how beautifully and evenly the three panels wrap around the case. The case features multiple options for heat dissipation with a perforated section on the top of the case, perforated sections on the top of the front panel, an air intake on the bottom of the front panel, and a perforation on the back of the case for installing a 120mm fan. Two 120 or 140 mm supply air fans can be installed on the front panel. I installed two Corsair ML140 Pro Blue fans for the front air intake. Later I will install a Corsair ML120 Pro Blue in the back for air extraction. I do light photo and video editing and I'm not a gamer, so I didn't install any fans or heatsinks on the case as I don't use a liquid or AIO CPU cooler and don't plan on overclocking. My Intel i7-8700 processor works stably at 30-34 degrees Celsius, which is perfectly fine for me. I can go on and on about the nice cable management cutout, three removable dust filters, USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C port, and graphics card mount, but I think you get the point. The description is accurate and says it all. To me, this computer case is a computer builder's dream combined with practicality and beauty! SilverStone Technology really did their homework with this design! I have nothing bad to say. This is an upside down motherboard design, so some of the more complex computer builds may require some installation/connection creativity, but it worked fine for my build. Also, the glass panels make fingerprints and dust more visible, but I don't have a problem with that because I can just dust the glass panels like metal panels and just have to be extra careful when touching them with my greasy fingers. . This case is practical, but its design is driven by aesthetics, and if you disagree or are willing to compromise, then this computer case may not be for you. At $114.99 for the Revain, it's a bit high for a MicroATX computer case, but I like the quality and it's worth the extra cost for something that's not only well built, but also looks good. Beauty meets functionality!
