Review on Holy Lamb Organics Mattress Toppers by Shantel Griffin

This mattress topper literally saved my sore back or rather sore hips. To detoxify my sleeping environment, I bought a very expensive (and VERY heavy) organic wool wrap mattress from Royal Pedic online a few years ago. I also bought an organic quilted mattress topper that was advertised as padding. It's not like this. I love a firm mattress, but even with padding, this mattress is just HEAVY - so firm that I woke up with hip and shoulder pain every morning and often in the middle of the night (I sleep on my side). Pretty soon, my left piriformis began contracting regularly, causing severe pain. This is a completely natural, healthy mattress for you. I figured I would have to get rid of a very expensive (and did I mention heavy?) mattress and replace it with a regular one, which I really didn't. don't want to do. A friend recommended a memory foam mat. I wasn't thrilled with the idea, but in desperation I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and got one. It offered the padding I needed, but all that uncomfortable foam defeats the purpose of a "clean" sleeping environment. I also didn't like the fact that the memory foam sinks in, "gets stuck", but at least it offered the necessary padding for the mattress. And my piriformis finally stopped burning. Fast forward a few years and start with Holy Lamb Organics Wool Mattress Pad. I was in the Amazon looking for a wool air mattress topper for guests and came across this wool topper - the heavens opened and the angels sang! Well not really considering the price. But it was worth trying and it changed my life. The topper offers both cushioning and support - it's hard to describe how cozy and comfortable it feels. As I imagine, perhaps sleeping on a soft, gently supportive cloud. I'm sure part of it is happening in my head: I'm not sleeping on that nasty sticky memory foam anymore. My sleep has improved significantly. It's worth the price. Holy Lamb seems like an incredible company. In the topper they have included tons of information about the company, their other products, product maintenance, customer support etc etc. They really seem to care about their products and customers. When it arrived I stuck my nose right into the topper and sniffed in several places: no smell AT ALL. Holy Lamb recommends covering the topper with a (wool) mattress topper. I cover mine with the original (thin) wool mattress topper and my sheets go great with it (I was worried about that). After a few weeks of use, the topper shrinks a bit where I usually lie like a mattress, but it's easy to turn, turn, etc during a sheet change. And they recommend airing it out in the sun a few times a year, which would be easy for me here in sunny Southern California. VERY HAPPY!
