Review on πŸ“Έ High-Quality Professional Monopod: Dolica WT-1010 61-Inch Ultra-Premium (Black) by David Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very portable and functional for my Canon 5D Mark III.

Very light and functional monopod. I already have a Dolica tripod that I really like, so without further ado I ordered it to improve my mobility to take with me on a hike or a walk. The monopod is very light - I measured it at just 12.7 ounces or 0.79 pounds. The carrying case is 22 inches long, so an ultra-lightweight and portable monopod. My Canon 5D Mark III camera with a heavy Canon 70-200mm 1:28 telephoto lens weighs 5 pounds 12 ounces so I'm almost done. Ball head cameras along with this monopod and it's probably a good economical option if you have a camera, that weighs less than a few pounds or a point. For my full-frame camera with a heavy telephoto lens, however, I came up with a BEIKE BK-03 tripod ball head with a 1/4" quick-release plate and 1/4" stainless steel Rock Steady SS screw. 3/8" spigot/50mm Desmond tripod adapter for a secure fit. However, the all-metal ball head with quick-release plate weighs more than this monopod at 400 grams, which is something to keep in mind. If you're hiking for good landscape photos or when excessive tilt is not required , such as when shooting wildlife, I would just screw the monopod's 1/4 inch thread directly onto the camera body.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
