I bought some adapter rings and installed them on a 2007 electric airplane. I have a cheap Sony radio with a small Alpine KTP-445 amplifier. I've had aftermarket systems on 3 different electric planes over the past 10 years, Hog Tunes, j&m 7.25" rockers, Fosgate amps etc and this setup beats them all. I've only ridden them just under 700km so far. therefore white I don't know how they will hold up in the long run. I had a polk db651 kit where the tweeter had detached once, I believe due to vibration it was replaced under warranty and the replacement kit was fine .Anyway, I am using a stock Harley 2 in 2 header to which I have sealed the adapter pipe to convert it to a 2 to 1 header with a 3.5" Rinehart baffleless muffler. The sound is by far the best I've heard at highway speeds.As I'm using a USB flash drive with MP3s from various sources, the input quality isn't the best for some songs, but the amp does it pretty well and the speakers can ver Damn good deal with what this little amp puts out. I want to stress that when starting the amp (and on a Harley you need to start the amp) you need to take some time to get the gain right, it's really easy and needs to be done. Also, running the amp on your Harley saves you a few hassles, keep things simple and hook up the amp to the output leads of the radio speakers. If you are connecting a non-original radio you will definitely find the correct adapter harness you need for the radio, but the easiest way to hook up the amplifier with a little care is to use the wires that run from the radio to the speakers. As I said, for the first time in 10 years I have a system that I am completely satisfied with and that really offers a base that you can feel. The 7.25" rockers never impressed me and they were one of the best speakers I've ever used before them. UPDATE 11/11/20 - 2 years, 7000 miles and still working. These speakers are as good or better than any Harley specific speakers.You can buy.
