Review on Merrick Grain-Free Canned Wet Dog Food (Case of 12) - All Breed Sizes by Daniel Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Dog's favorite flavor but expensive - $9 per day

Expensive, like most grain-free cans, but Merricks has good, wholesome ingredients, but it's a lot of waste water. When we feed canned food, Grammy's Pot Pie is our dog's favorite variety. We usually eat raw (K-9 Kravings) and have a few cans of Merrick on hand in case we run out of raw K-9 Kravings and can't reach local retailers 45-60 minutes away. (or both left). If you use. These are canned foods, we end up saving on quantity - they're high in moisture (water) and for our 50 lb dog, the directions are to feed 3.25 cans per day, which works out to about $9-10 per day . more than double our cost with raw food. Luckily we never had to feed him for more than a few days and with all the water content our dog didn't feel hungry. In addition, we add additional boiled or raw vegetables for temporary use of canned goods. Incidentally, there is also a significantly higher stool yield with canned food compared to raw food.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Out of style
