I'll preface this by noting that the shoe looks amazing and at a 7.62 walk on the AT (6/6/2020) the look has held up pretty well. I did NOT purchase these with the intention of using them for everyday hiking and that was not the case. I've worn them around town, on short walks in Atlanta, and to the grocery store. I was moderately concerned that the totally unstructured heel would cause issues, but it had no real ill effects. However: Cons A: While riding (as another reviewer noted) these shoes definitely cause upper heel pain. While they're good for getting around town and running errands, I wouldn't recommend traveling from state to state or across the country. Con B: As you may be able to tell from the photos, the fabric on the instep side of the hind leg came off during the aforementioned 7+ mile AT walk. By the time I felt it becoming a problem I was halfway through the cycle and it was shorter to complete than to turn around and go back. Against C: Hot spots, especially on ball of left foot, kick. around the 3+ mile mark. But to be honest it could have been a new kind of socks I was wearing. Bottom line: these are great shoes for running errands, wearing around town, etc. Bullshit. I wish I hadn't trusted the product description and just carried it around town instead. Now I have a pair of unbearable $100 shoes. Even if I like the everyday look, I will not buy it again.
