I bought a truck that runs on synthetic oil. Not knowing anything better, I used a filter, let's call it an "F", for my first oil change at 10,000 miles. Just a fun little note. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 and it probably took me a good 10 minutes and a few YouTube videos to figure out where my actual filter was because I couldn't remember. Now that I know a lot more, that last oil change changed everything. . I did some more research and found a good quality, high mileage filter. When it arrived I couldn't believe how heavy it was compared to the "F" filter. I will say that when I switched from the "F" filter to this one, I was unprepared in terms of tools. I usually use an oil filter wrench covering the bottom of the filter to unscrew it. This filter was much larger. I had this moment of panic that it wouldn't fit in my truck. It really fit my truck, I just had to switch to an adjustable oil filter wrench to tighten it. I won't know how well the filter works for 1 year or 10,000 miles, but from what I've read about it it should work great. I'm happy to see how the oil looks after running this filter. Ironically, I was excited to buy this because I knew it would make my truck feel better and last longer.
