These are massive, relatively heavy pedals; However, they provide excellent traction and cause much less damage to your shins if your foot slips off the pedal compared to a metal spiked pedal. The heaviness of the pedals is actually an asset to my cruiser; They just feel solid and durable and allow me to ride in everything from tennis shoes to casual shoes to nice thick soled sandals like the Tiva type. Conclusion, I love these pedals for my cruiser.
